As most of you know we are interviewing for the vacant baseball coaching position this week. We have three candidates who will be in this week. I have only met one of the condidates but its on Monday, so I will be able to tell you more next week. The important thing is the process is moving quickly and if all goes well we will have a new baseball coach in early July and he can get started on the matter of improving our baseball program.
Other goings on around campus are continued construction. The NCCHW is taking shape. Actual walls being built. A new enterty way to the athletic offices is being built and the track and field press box is in the works. Hopefully, I will be able to be a camera outside and take some pictures for visual proof. Those pictures will be posted on uncabulldogs.com.
Speaking of uncabulldogs.com. I hope you have noticed the new sport commericals going up. Still three sports to go but new commericals are up for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, men's soccer, men's and women's tennis and track and field. Some of the commericals were done by students who took my VMP 273 class last semester. Soccer goalkeeper Lassi Hurskeinen did the men's soccer spot. Former track and cross country runner Andrew Burnette did the track commerical and tennis player Stephanie Schon did the tennis spots. If you haven't seen them, check them out on each sports page.
