So, I was looking at my calendar this morning and realized today might be the last day I am in the office for the next week and a half. Beginning tomorrow baseball takes center stage here at UNC Asheville.
If we can keep the rain away, The Bulldogs will end their season with three home games against Presbyterian, Thursday through Saturday. All games begin at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Field. Saturday will be Senior Day and by an amazing coincidence Graduation Day, seems appropriate.
Monday will be spent at McCormick Field gearing up for the Big South Baseball Tournament that goes from Tuesday until Saturday. So just when you thought we were basically done for the year, there is plenty to do over the next couple of days. I do hope that you will plan to make it out to Greenwood Field this week. Baseball has had a tough year but the players, especially the seniors would appreciate the support. It is easy to be there when things are going well. Those you love are there when you are struggling. So, please come and show your support.
Also, despite the fact that we will not be playing in next week’s championships. I hope that you will come out to support the tournament. It is the first time Asheville has hosted the baseball championships and we have a reputation of hosting great events. There will be plenty of good baseball, obviously the day games are difficult to get to with work, but come when you can and let the Big South know how great a baseball town Asheville is.
Go Dogs.
